The difference between cold rolled titanium coil and hot rolled titanium coil

1. The two are substantially different:


(1) The essence of cold-rolled titanium coil: Cold-rolled titanium is titanium produced by cold rolling. Cold rolling is to further thin the titanium plate to a target thickness at room temperature.


(2) The essence of hot-rolled titanium coil: Hot-rolled titanium material is a kind of titanium material that is rolled above the recrystallization temperature.


2. The characteristics of the two are different:


(1) Features of cold-rolled titanium: The thickness of cold-rolled titanium is more accurate, and the surface is smooth and beautiful. At the same time, it also has various superior mechanical properties, especially in terms of processing performance.


(2) Features of hot-rolled titanium material: During hot-rolling, the metal has high plasticity and low deformation resistance, which greatly reduces the energy consumption of metal deformation. Hot rolling can improve the processing performance of metals and alloys, that is, the coarse grains in the casting state are broken, the cracks are healed significantly, the casting defects are reduced or eliminated, the as-cast structure is transformed into a deformed structure, and the processing performance of the alloy is improved.


3. The processing requirements of the two are different:


(1) Processing requirements of cold-rolled titanium materials: Cold-rolled titanium requires high rolling mill power and low rolling efficiency, and intermediate annealing is required to eliminate work hardening during the rolling process, so the cost is also high.


(2) Processing requirements of hot-rolled titanium materials: hot-rolled titanium is easy to roll, and the rolling efficiency of titanium is high. The hot-rolling temperature includes the starting rolling temperature and the final rolling temperature. The determination of the starting rolling temperature is mainly based on the solidus line in the alloy phase diagram. The final rolling temperature should be determined according to the plasticity diagram of the alloy, and it is generally required to be controlled above the recrystallization temperature of the alloy.


Second, the use of cold-rolled titanium and hot-rolled titanium:


1. Uses of cold-rolled titanium:


Cold-rolled strips are widely used, such as automobile manufacturing, electrical products, rolling stock, aviation, precision instruments, and canned food. Cold-rolled thin titanium plate is the abbreviation of ordinary carbon structure titanium cold-rolled plate, also known as cold-rolled plate, commonly known as cold plate, and sometimes mistakenly written as cold-rolled plate. The cold plate is made of ordinary carbon structure titanium hot-rolled titanium strip, which is further cold-rolled into a titanium plate with a thickness of less than 4mm.


Due to rolling at room temperature, no iron oxide scale is produced. Therefore, the cold plate has good surface quality and high dimensional accuracy. Coupled with annealing treatment, its mechanical properties and process properties are better than those of hot-rolled thin titanium plates. In many fields, especially It is in the field of home appliance manufacturing, and it has gradually replaced hot-rolled thin titanium plates.


2. Uses of hot-rolled titanium:


(1) Structural titanium: mainly used in the production of titanium structural parts, bridges, ships and vehicles.


(2) Weather-resistant titanium: adding special elements (P, Cu, C, etc.), it has good corrosion resistance and atmospheric corrosion resistance, and is used in the production of containers and special vehicles, as well as in building structures.


(3) Titanium for automotive structure: high-strength titanium plate with good stamping performance and welding performance, used in the production of automotive FRAME, WHEEL, etc.


(4) Hot-rolled special titanium: carbon titanium, alloy titanium and tool titanium for general mechanical structures, which are used in the production of various mechanical parts after heat treatment.
