Product Introduction

XRUN provides a great range of bar sizes across different grades. Ti 6246 Titanium Bar is one of our hot products. Ti6246 is a kind of alloy which is a sequence of alpha + beta two-phase titanium alloys developing by the United States in the 20th century. Ti6246 is modification based on the Ti6242. Ti6246 can fully shows it is a kind of high strength, high toughness titanium alloy. Because Ti6246 alloy is on the basis of the Ti - 6242 alloy increasing the content of Mo, which makes the room temperature and high temperature tensile properties were improved. And adding Sn and Zr could enhance Mo beta stability characteristics, so it makes the alloy phase transition behavior becoming very slow.

High strength

The density of titanium alloys is usually about 4.51g/cm3, only 60% of that of steel. Some high-strength titanium alloys exceed the strength of many alloyed structural steels. As a result, titanium alloys have a higher content of specific strength (strength/density) than other metallic structural materials, and can produce parts with high unit strength, good stiffness and light weight. Titanium alloy is used for engine parts, skeleton, skin, fasteners and landing gear.


High temperature performance

It can work continuously at 450 ~ 500℃. The two titanium alloys are still very high in the range of 150℃ ~ 500℃. The specific strength of aluminum alloy decreases significantly at 150℃. The working temperature of titanium alloy can reach 500℃, while the working temperature of aluminum alloy can be less than 200℃.


Good corrosion resistance

Titanium alloys work in twisted seawater and are far more resistant to corrosion than stainless steel. It is particularly resistant to pitting, acid and stress corrosion; Resistant to alkali, chloride, chlorinated organic matter, nitric acid and sulfuric acid.


Good low temperature performance

Titanium alloys can still maintain their mechanical properties at low and ultra-low temperatures. Titanium alloys with good low temperature properties and very low gap elements retain a degree of plasticity at -253°C. Therefore, titanium alloy is also an important low temperature structural material.
