Grade 5 Titanium Sheet

Grade 5 titanium sheet is a strong, lightweight titanium alloy, primarily composed of titanium with 6% aluminum and 4% vanadium. It is commonly used in aerospace, medical implants, and high-performance automotive parts. 

• High Strength with Lightweight: Combines very high strength (tensile ≥ 895 MPa, yield ≥ 828 MPa) with low density (~4.5 g/cm³, about 60% of steel), hence an excellent strength-to-weight ratio.
• Excellent Corrosion Resistance: Forms a stable oxide layer that protects against corrosion in seawater, acids, alkalis, and many harsh environments.
• Good Temperature Performance: Maintains mechanical strength and toughness at elevated temperatures (~400 °C and even ~450 °C in some circumstances), suitable for aerospace and high-temperature parts.
• Good Fabrication & Processing Capability: Formable by rolling/molding, weldable, and heat-treatable for enhanced strength.

• Aerospace & Aviation

Used for aircraft engine components (e.g., compressor blades, disks, rings) and airframe structures such as skins, fuselage parts, and landing gear due to its high strength-to-weight ratio.

• Medical Implants & Devices

Applied in medical implants and surgical instruments because of its biocompatibility and strength.

• Defense & Military

Used in defense components and armour vehicle parts that benefit from lightweight toughness and high strength.

• Automotive & High-Performance Vehicles

Used in engine and performance components in automotive (e.g., valves, intake parts, lightweight structures) due to its strength and low weight.

• Marine Engineering

Used in marine structures and components exposed to seawater because of excellent corrosion resistance.
