Grade 12 Titanium Bar

Grade 12 titanium bar owns the advantages of high strength lightweight and corrosion resistant.XRUN offers a wide range of bar sizes across different grades. Grade 12 alloy is a kind of titanium alloy with moderate strength which contains 0.3% molybdenum and 0.8% nickel.

The features of GR12

The nominal chemical composition of GR12 is Ti-0.3Mo-0.8Ni, which is a Ti-12 alloy developed by the United States in the mid 1970s. It is a Titanium alloy with crack corrosion resistance. The tensile strength of GR12 is higher than GR2, but lower than GR5. The processing technology of GR12 is basically the same as that of pure titanium. The tensile strength of the alloy at 300℃ is twice as high as that of pure titanium, and the corrosion resistance of reducing medium is obviously improved. No crevice corrosion occurs in the chloride at 150-200℃.

The manufacturing process

After mixing the titanium sponge and intermediate alloy, the electrode is pressed. Then, using vacuum plasma welding box to weld the electrode to ensure there is no inclusion and external pollution risk. Next, two times VAR melting is implemented to obtain high clean and uniform ingot. After that the 5000T High-speed forging equipment is used for several times forging process with large deformation to effectively break the grain. Last step is Grade 12 titanium bar is completed by rolling or extrusion.

All Grade 12 titanium bars are 100% inspected with advanced producting technique to guarantee the high quality and competitive price.Ultrasonic test is to be done with AMS 2631 & AMS STD-2154 and the tolerance will be tested according to standard's required or specific requirement by customer.

Applications

It is mainly used to manufacture compressor components, such as forged titanium fans, compressor discs and blades, cast titanium compressor casing, intermediate casing, bearing housing, etc. Spacecraft mainly use titanium alloy high specific strength, corrosion resistance and low temperature performance to manufacture a variety of pressure vessels, fuel tanks, fasteners, instrument straps, frames and rocket housing.
