Corrosion behavior of Gr16 Titanium Plate in chlorine medium：

In a variety of metal materials, titanium in wet chlorine, chloride solution and other media is the most corrosion resistant, becauseThis has been widely used. Titanium in the chlorine gas to produce severe corrosion, and even cause fire and spontaneous combustion. The boundary between "dry" and "wet" depends on factors such as ambient temperature and alloy composition. According to the data reported abroad, the lowest water content of industrial pure titanium in chlorine gas at ~200℃ to maintain the blunt state is about 1.5%, and at the usual temperature, as long as the lowest water content is maintained at 0.3-0.4%, it will not cause fire. The Gr16 titanium plate can maintain the blunt state of the metal at lower water content.

What is the corrosion resistance of titanium in alkali?

Titanium has strong corrosion resistance in alkali and alkaline media. Whether sodium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide, or ammonia, calcium hydroxide, magnesium hydroxide, are very corrosion resistant. The corrosion rate of titanium in boiling water saturated with calcium hydroxide, magnesium hydroxide and ammonia is almost zero. In high temperature and high concentration sodium hydroxide solution, such as 50% ~ 73% solution at 188℃, the corrosion rate may exceed 1.09mm/A. Nevertheless, the hydrogen embrittlement sensitivity of titanium in alkaline solution at high temperature cannot be ignored. When the temperature exceeds 77℃ and the pH value of the alkali solution is greater than 12, special attention should be paid to the possibility of hydrogen absorption and hydrogen embrittleness of titanium in the alkali solution
