Ti 6246 titanium forging is a kind of high strength and high toughness titanium alloy. The addition of Sn and Zr enhances the stability of Mo and makes the phase transformation behavior of the alloy become very slow. The quenching depth of the alloy can reach 76 mm, and it has good comprehensive properties.The low cycle fatigue strength of the Ti-6246 alloy after solution aging or double annealing is obviously higher than that of the corresponding Ti6Al4V titanium alloy, and it also has higher creep strength and instantaneous strength at high temperature.XRUN offers a wide range of titanium forging sizes across different grades.Ti-6246 is a heat-treatable alpha-beta alloy designed to combine the long-term, elevated temperature strength properties of Ti-6242S with much improved short-term strength properties of a fully hardened alpha-beta alloy.Its nominal composition is Ti-6Al-2Sn-4Zr-6Mo.

Main materials:

The main raw materials used to prepare Ti 6246 titanium alloy are sponge titanium and intermediate alloy. After mixing the titanium sponge and intermediate alloy, the electrode is pressed. Then using vacuum plasma welding box to weld the electrode to ensure there is no inclusion and external pollution risk. Ti 6246 titanium ingot was fabricated by two times VAR melting . It is obtained by multiple forging processes using 5000T High-speed forging equipment. Various heat treatment systems can be used for it, including annealing or solution aging treatment. If a relatively high processing temperature is used, the lower limit of the solution treatment temperature will be used. If a medium processing temperature is used, the desired microstructure will be obtained when the double solution treatment is performed, in which the first treatment at a high temperature and the second treatment at approximately 845℃. The final heat treatment of Ti 6246 titanium forgings includes two stages, solid solution treatment quenching and aging, solid solution treatment is carried out at 870-900℃ below the β phase transition point, followed by water quenching or fan air cooling, aging temperature is 535~620℃.

Ti-6246 titanium alloy is used for long-term load-carrying applications at temperatures up to 400℃ and for short-term load-carrying applications at temperatures up to 540℃. Ti 6246 titanium forging is used for intermediate temperature sections of gas turbine engines, praticularly for compressor disks and fan blades. Ultrasonic test is in accordance with AMS 2631 & AMS STD-2154.
