Grade 7 Titanium Plate

Grade 7 titanium plate is composed of TI-0.2Pd, TI-0.15Pd and TI-0.13Pd, among which TI-0.2Pd is the most widely used. When the amount of Pd added to titanium reaches 0.1%-0.2%, its corrosion rate in sulfuric acid and hydrochloric acid is significantly reduced, and the content of Pd is further increased, and the corrosion rate of alloy is almost unchanged. However, when Pd content is lower than 0.05%, the corrosion rate increases. When the acid concentration of Grade 7 is low, the titanium Pd alloy containing 0.13%Pd has satisfactory corrosion resistance, but when the acid concentration is high, Ti-0.2Pd has better corrosion resistance, so TI-0.2Pd is more suitable. The corrosion resistance of this material is greatly enhanced by the addition of palladium and is used in reactors, towers, heat exchangers and electrolytic cells in a variety of highly corrosive environments.

The data show that the corrosion resistance of Ti-0.2Pd in reducing medium is obviously better than that of industrial pure titanium, and the corrosion resistance of Ti-0.2Pd welding zone is the same as that of the base metal. Compared with deaerated hydrochloric acid, the stable potential of TI-0.2Pd in air-filled hydrochloric acid is significantly positive, and the corrosion speed can be reduced by 10 times. However, in the acid solution filled with argon or nitrogen, the passivation performance of Ti-0.2Pd decreases significantly when the corrosion solution is constantly replaced or the solution volume of sample per unit area increases. Therefore, a small amount of palladium is added to TI-0.2 Pd.Grade7 titanium alloy in the condition of complete absence of oxygen or oxidant, which improves the corrosion resistance in oxidizing media, especially the resistance to crevice corrosion.

Welding and heat treatment of Grade 7 Titanium Plate:

1.Welding: welding by argon arc welding. .

2.Heat treatment: Stress-free annealing treatment can eliminate the internal stress of Gr7 material during welding, and at the same time, annealing can also reduce the strength of the material, improve the plasticity of the material and avoid cracks in the process of hydraulic forming. In order to reduce the pollution of various gases on the surface of Gr7 material during heat treatment, the lower limit temperature is selected for annealing, and the surface of the blank is coated with anti-oxidation coating

Application area:
