It is a metal with strong passivation tendency, in the air and oxidation or neutral aqueous solution can quickly generate a layer of stable oxidation protective film, even if the film is damaged for some reasons, it can quickly recover automatically. Therefore, titanium has excellent corrosion resistance in oxidizing and neutral media. Due to the great passivation property of titanium, in many cases when in contact with dissimilar metals, does not accelerate the corrosion, but may accelerate the corrosion of dissimilar metals. For example, in low concentrations of non-oxidizing acids, if Pb, Sn, Cu or Monel alloys are contacted with titanium to form galvanic couples, the corrosion of these materials is accelerated, while titanium is not affected. In hydrochloric acid, when titanium and low carbon steel contact, due to the surface of titanium generated new hydrogen, destroy the titanium oxide film, not only cause hydrogen embrittlement of titanium, but also accelerate the corrosion of titanium, which may be due to the high activity of titanium to hydrogen. In 5% boiling sulfuric acid, the corrosion rate of it decreases from 48.26mm/a to 0.508mm/a, and the corrosion resistance of Grade 11 titanium palladium alloy increases about 95 times. The alloy has good machining, forming and welding properties.

Main materials:

The main raw materials used to prepare Grade 11 titanium alloy are sponge titanium and palladium powder. After mixing the titanium sponge and palladium powder, the electrode is pressed. Then using vacuum plasma welding box to weld the electrode to ensure there is no inclusion and external pollution risk. The Grade 11 titanium ingot was fabricated by two times VAR melting . It is obtained by multiple forging processes using 5000T High-speed forging equipment.

Titanium Grade 11 forging has excellent corrosion resistance to most salt solutions. For example, titanium is more resistant to corrosion in chloride solutions than high chromium nickel steel and has no pore corrosion. However, the corrosion rate is higher in aluminum chloride, which is related to the production of concentrated hydrochloric acid after the hydrolysis of aluminum chloride. Titanium also has good stability to hot sodium chlorite and various concentrations of hypochlorite. Therefore it is widely used in vacuum salt and bleaching powder industry. In addition, Titanium Grade 11 forging has good corrosion resistance to most alkaline solutions. Titanium is more stable in solutions of sodium hydroxide and potassium hydroxide at concentrations less than 50%. If the alkali solution contains chloride ions or chlorides, the corrosion resistance even exceeds that of nickel and zirconium. However, the corrosion will increase with the increase of temperature and concentration. Now the chlor-alkali industry is the largest field of domestic civil titanium application.
